I Have Been Slipping

29 Apr

I started a new job a couple weeks ago that has really put a strain on my ability to post frequently, as well as my ability to stay paleo. Basically the last two weeks have been filled with beer, pizza, hot dogs, mac n’ cheese, etc. I weighed in this morning at 229. That’s up 7 pounds from my last weigh in. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

The important thing is to not get overwhelmed. I knew I was slipping, I’ve now acknowledged it to myself (and all of you), and now I need to address it. Time to refocus and get rededicated.

I said from the very beginning that I would chronicle the good, the bad and the ugly. Well things have gotten bad…..maybe even ugly. Time to remedy the situation.

I know exactly how you feel. I've gone through similar circumstances where it seems that the only options available are non paleo foods. Consuming them often brings on bouts of guilt/queasiness followed by a realization that I am doing the right thing by feeding myself all natural foods. Please keep up the good work. I know exactly how you feel.

I think it happens to the best of us. I've had a few days of….although not un-primal, definitely not in my best interest. The first thing to do is admit and then move on with a plan of action. No matter how ugly =)

Don't feel too badly about the pizza and beer thing, I've been there too. I've fallen off the Paleo Diet wagon a few times, but it taught me a lesson. I realized that although I was eating Paleo to get healthy and stay fit, I still needed to treat myself to the bad stuff every once in a while. Now I have a couple days a month that I designate as my cheat days and I can have the bad food in moderation.

Maybe my wife and I will have a pizza night and I'll have a couple beers and then it's right back to Paleo. Don't let it discourage you, just find a way to turn it into a positive. Doesn't beer start with all natural ingredients anyways? LOL
