Update
26 Jan
I regret that I have not maintained this blog in the manner I initially set out to. As we all know, sometimes, despite the best intentions, things just don’t go as planned.
I am proud to say, however, that I am referring to the updating of this blog, and NOT my transition to the paleo diet. I began my transition to paleo on November 11, 2009 weighing 249 pounds. Today is January 26, 2010 and my weight as of this morning is 235 pounds (it is worth noting this was done after breakfast and some light weightlifting…not the best time to weigh yourself).
2 1/2 months. 14 pounds. Am I happy? Absolutely! But what makes me even happier is the fact that this weight loss has occurred despite some serious cheating. Obviously I’m not happy that I’ve cheated, but I’m happy knowing I can see results from making broad changes and sticking to those changes MOST of the time.
My biggest roadblock has been weekends. During the week it is easy to get into a routine and stay on track. However, the weekend brings friends, football, video games….”empty” time. It has not been uncommon for me to remain fairly paleo during the week, but then hit up some pizza/chinese food/fajitas on the weekends.
14 pounds is great, but I love knowing that it’s just the tip of the ice berg. A little less cheating on the weekends, a little more time in the gym…there is room for even more improvement.
As far as the blog goes, I will do my best to make more frequent updated. In addition to starting a new job a month ago, I have several other “projects” going on that take up most of my time. I will do my best though. To anyone else who has started the paleo diet, I offer you nothing but encouragement. Stay tuned….
