Hello! Thanks for checking out my new blog. My goal is to use this blog to share my personal experiment with the paleo diet. In the process, I hope to provide some useful information to other people who are considering (or have already started) a change to the paleo diet.

To get started, I will share a little bit about my body stats. I am a 25 year old, fairly athletic male. Despite my athletic ability, I have always been “husky.” I stand a shade under 6 feet tall, and currently weigh around 245 pounds. Through high school and college I have actively participated in sports including: tennis, soccer, basketball, flag football and softball. I also have done weight lifting off and on since college.

Though I’ve put on some decent muscle mass over the years from weight lifting, my diet has caused me to put a lot of fat over that muscle. Lets put it this way….I’m 245 pounds now; I am fairly confident that if I was 200 pounds, with the same muscle mass I have now, I would be a bonafide stud muffin!

Historically, my failure to get healthy and loose weight has been the result of the following:

  • Not sticking to a program long enough
  • Eating well, but not exercising
  • Exercising, but not eating well

My goal in starting the paleo diet, and this blog, is to make an overall life style change. I’m a little disappointed it is actually called the paleo “diet.” Perhaps “the paleo eating style” would be better. Anyways, the point is that this will be a major lifestyle change. And as with all major changes, it will take hard work, dedication, and time. There will be growing pains, and there is no certainty that I will be able to successfully make the transition. All I can do is try.
